Are you an experienced Florida attorney with a strong background in lien foreclosure and foreclosure litigation, looking for a role where you can focus on the legal work without the pressure or expectation of pursuing partnership?
I’m currently working with a highly regarded law firm, which is looking to strengthen its Real Estate team in Naples with the appointment of an experienced Staff Attorney, Staff Associate or Staff Counsel.
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys having ownership of their caseload, managing matters from initial instruction through resolution, and appearing in court, while benefiting from the stability of a defined, non-partnership career path.
The Role
You’ll manage a predominantly foreclosure-focused caseload, dealing with lien foreclosure and related foreclosure litigation matters throughout Florida. The role offers a high degree of autonomy, with responsibility for drafting and filing pleadings, managing deadlines, conducting legal research, communicating directly with clients and opposing counsel, and representing clients in court. You’ll also work closely with experienced paralegals and support staff to ensure matters are progressed efficiently and effectively.Key Responsibilities
- Manage an active caseload of lien foreclosure and related foreclosure matters from filing through judgment and, where applicable, sale or appeal.
- Independently draft, review and file pleadings, motions and other court documents.
- Represent clients at hearings, trials and other court proceedings.
- Conduct legal research relating to Florida foreclosure law, lien priority and civil procedure.
- Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, title companies and other stakeholders.
- Monitor court dockets, deadlines and procedural requirements.
- Work collaboratively with paralegals and support staff to maintain accurate and well-organised files.
- Keep up to date with developments in Florida foreclosure law and relevant local court procedures.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:- A J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with The Florida Bar.
- Demonstrable experience handling lien foreclosure, mortgage foreclosure or related real estate litigation in Florida.
- Strong knowledge of Florida foreclosure law, lien priority principles and applicable civil procedure.
- The ability to manage a caseload independently and take ownership of matters.
- Experience appearing in court, including contested hearings and trials.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines.
- The ability to work from the firm's Naples, Florida office
